Inclusions and Exclusions
Inclusions and Exclusions
1. General
1.1 Our services strictly adhere to industry practices, building standards, and applicable regulations, without regard for individual interpretations or personal preferences. We are committed to maintaining compliance with established guidelines to ensure safety, quality, and integrity in all installations.
1.2 Our employees are required to follow all safety protocols mandated by workplace safety regulations, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as steel-capped boots, as stipulated by WorkSafe laws. While we respect diverse beliefs and practices, workplace safety laws must take precedence over personal preferences. Full compliance is essential, and no interference or harassment related to the use of required safety gear will be tolerated.
By engaging with our services, you agree to these conditions. Any necessary floor protection must be provided at your expense and ready when our team arrives onsite. Delays due to preparation may incur additional charges. Refusing access to workers in PPE will be considered a breach of contract, making you liable for associated costs.
1.3 In line with evolving building standards, replacing older glass with thicker alternatives may be necessary. This transition can sometimes pose challenges, especially with older frames that have rubber seals, beads, or timber that may not fully accommodate thicker glass. In such cases, we may remove outdated components and apply a silicone seal to secure the glass in metal frames. For timber frames, beading may extend further from the frame.
1.4 Glass replacement in timber windows typically involves using putty or timber beading. Please note that putty only comes in a cream color. We do not offer painting services for frames as part of our service. Any painting required to match the original frame finish must be arranged separately by the customer.
1.5 Timber beaded frames may experience bead snapping during removal due to excess silicone applied by previous installers. In such cases, we will replace the broken beads as a courtesy; however, you will be responsible for painting them to match the existing frame.
2. Shower Screens
2.1 In removal and replacement services, we cannot evaluate mounting or fixture conditions until the existing shower screen is removed. This may include uncovering screw holes or tile/wall damage only visible after removal. If damage is discovered, you will need to hire a tiler at your expense to address these issues before we can proceed.
2.2 When installing a new shower screen after removing an old one, please be aware that newer products are generally smaller and more streamlined than older models. This difference may leave visible screw holes or silicone marks from previous installations, which may require attention from a tiler at your expense.
2.3 All pipework and electrical wiring must be accurately located and clearly marked before our installers begin any work to prevent accidental drilling into these areas. If this information cannot be provided or verified, Barwon Glass accepts no responsibility for any damages that may occur to hidden plumbing or electrical infrastructure during installation.
3. Pet Doors
3.1 Installing pet doors in sliding doors or flyscreen doors involves adding components on both the interior and exterior of the glass, which may affect the operation of the sliding door and flyscreen. Adjustments, such as removing the flyscreen side seal or modifying the framework, may be necessary to accommodate the pet door.
3.2 While we provide guidance on selecting pet doors, please understand that every animal behaves differently. Some pets may be more active or forceful, potentially causing damage to the product. If damage is found to result from the pet’s behavior, it will be classified as misuse, voiding the warranty on the installed product.
4. Customer Responsibilities
4.1 Customers are responsible for ensuring clear and safe access to the installation area, including removing any obstacles that might interfere with our work. If we need to move furniture or wait for access, additional time will be billed on top of the quoted price.
4.2 Any existing fixtures or structures that could impact installation should be disclosed to our team before the work begins.
4.3 Our quotes are based on the assumption of immediate access to the site upon our team’s arrival. If we need to collect keys from a real estate office or another location, the time spent will be billed in addition to the quoted price, unless specified otherwise in the quote.
