Taking the Temporary Cover Off a Clifton Springs Window

The bottom panel of a window at a Clifton Springs home was smashed. The customer had covered the opening themselves as a stopgap, but wanted it restored properly and secured.

A temporary cover buys time, not much else

Boarding or taping an opening is the right first move, and plenty of customers do it before we arrive. What it does not do is keep weather out reliably, keep the room usable, or stop the opening being an obvious weak point from outside.

It is a holding position, and the longer it stays the more likely the frame takes damage from moisture around the rebate.

Same day, properly finished

We attended promptly and completed the replacement the same day, fitting the new panel cleanly so the window returned to its original appearance rather than looking repaired.

Weatherproof, secure, and no longer advertising itself.
