Flat Tray Truck Crane Hire in Geelong
A HIAB 025 on a flat tray truck. It lifts 1750 kg close in, which is well over what our knuckle boom crane will do, and because the boom works low and flat it gets into carports, under verandahs and beneath roof lines where a knuckle boom has no room to unfold.
The flat tray is the other half of it. That is how we get A frames of glass to site, and how the Jekko MPK06 glass lifter travels. A glass lifting attachment can go on the crane as well when the job calls for it.
This truck is being finished now. If you have work coming up, tell us about it and we will let you know the week it is on the road.

What the HIAB 025 Actually Does
A truck mounted crane with a boom that extends out rather than arcing up and over. That is what makes it the one to send when there is a roof, a verandah or a carport in the way.
What It Lifts, and How Far Out
Capacity drops as the boom extends, the same as any crane. Work out where the truck can stand, measure to where the load has to land, and read the figure at that distance.
- 1.3 m out1750 kg
- 2.3 m out1040 kg
- 3.3 m out730 kg
- 4.3 m out560 kg
How to read this chart
The distances are measured from the centre of rotation of the crane, not from the side of the truck, so allow for where the column actually sits when you are working out reach. The ratings are lifting capacity only. As HIAB put it on the chart, do not lift or move loads exceeding these ratings. Send us the weight and the distance and we will check it against the chart and the site access before anything is booked.
For Tight Sites and Heavy Loads
This is the truck we send when the site is covered, low or awkward. Our knuckle boom crane reaches further and higher, but it needs headroom to unfold. This one does not.
It works under a roof
Carports, verandahs, awnings, undercrofts and low garages. A knuckle boom has to fold up through an arc before it reaches out, and there is often nowhere for it to go. A boom that extends flat does not need that room.
More weight, closer in
1750 kg at 1.3 metres, against 990 kg on the knuckle boom. When the load is heavy and the crane can get near it, this is the one that picks it up.
The flat tray earns its keep
A frames of glass, the Jekko MPK06, pallets, steel and site gear all travel on the same deck. One truck arrives with the glass, the lifting machine and the crane to unload both.
Glass lifter attachment available
A glass lifting attachment can go on the crane when the job calls for it, so a panel can be picked directly rather than slung. Tell us what the load is and we will set it up the right way before it leaves.
What People Hire It For
If the load is inside the chart and the truck can get level and legal beside it, it is worth a call.
Rates and Availability
We would rather tell you where this is up to than take a booking we cannot keep.
This truck is still being finished
The HIAB 025 is fitted and the tray is being completed now. It is not on the road yet, so we are not taking firm bookings or publishing a day rate for it until it is finished and certified.
Send your job through anyway. We will tell you honestly whether it will be ready in time, and if it will not, we will look at whether our glass lifter or knuckle boom truck can do it instead, or point you to someone who can do it sooner.
Tell us the weight, how far the crane would have to reach, and what is overhead, and we will come back to you.
Tell Us About the Lift
Send through what needs lifting, how heavy it is, how far the crane would have to reach, whether there is anything overhead, and the site address. We will work out which of our three machines suits and where the truck is up to.
