For Insurance Builders & Claims Managers

Glazing Subcontractor for Insurance Work in Geelong

We do insurance glazing every week, both directly for policy holders and as a subcontractor to insurance builders and restoration companies. Make safe, board up, measure, supply and install, all documented with photographs and handed back in a form your file can use.

We are trade qualified, fully insured, inducted for sensitive sites, and we own our own glass lifting equipment. That last part matters more than it sounds, and it is covered further down.

A text is usually quicker than a call. We are often on a job with our hands full, and the first thing we would ask for is a photo anyway. Send one now and we can price it the moment we are back on the phone.

Why Builders Use Us

What You Actually Get From Putting Us On

We answer the phone

Most of the friction in insurance glazing is not the glass, it is chasing a trade who will not call back. You get a direct number to the people doing the work, not a call centre and not a queue.

We own the lifting gear

A 600 kg glass lifting robot in service now, with two crane trucks of our own being fitted out behind it. Equipment is charged on the job like anyone else would charge it, but it is ours, so nothing sits waiting on a hire company and no claim needs a crew of six carrying a panel by hand.

Everything is photographed

Before, during and after, as a matter of habit rather than on request. You can see how we document a job on our completed works, which is ninety plus jobs written up with photos and measurements.

One trade, whole scope

Windows, doors, shopfronts, shower screens, mirrors, splashbacks, balustrades and pet doors. You are not coordinating three subbies to close out one claim.

Cleared for the awkward sites

Schools, childcare, aged care, correctional facilities and fuel sites. Working With Children Check, confined space, heights and WPCG clearance issuer accreditation are already in place, so a sensitive site is not a reason to go looking elsewhere.

We work to your paperwork

Purchase orders, your scope format, your reporting and your invoicing terms. Tell us how your file needs to look and we will send it back that way rather than making you reformat ours.

Our Own Equipment

We Enjoy the Tricky Ones

Most glaziers subcontracting on insurance work do not own lifting equipment. They book it from a hire company and wait for a slot, or they put six to eight people on the panel and carry it in by hand. Ours sits in our own yard. Equipment is charged on the job the same as it would be anywhere else, it simply does not come with a queue attached. Between them these machines cover the great majority of the work other glaziers turn down.

The practical difference on your file is time and risk. A machine means one operator on a remote control and a panel that goes in the day it arrives. The same panel by hand means six or eight people under a suspended load, a longer day on site, and exactly the kind of manual handling that turns a glazing claim into an incident report.

The glass lifter is in service now. Both trucks are built and being fitted out, and we will tell you the week each one is on the road rather than promising it early.

For the occasional job that is bigger than everything we own, we have the crane and rigging contacts to bring in and we manage them ourselves. You still make one call, you still get one invoice, and the outcome is still ours to answer for. If a claim involves a panel nobody wants to touch, that is usually the one we would like to hear about.

How It Runs

Working With Us on a Claim

1

You send the job

Address, contact, what is broken and your reference or purchase order. A photograph from the assessor or the policy holder saves us a trip and saves you a day.

2

Make safe first if it is needed

If the property is open, we secure it before anything else. Board up, remove the loose glass, make the opening safe to leave overnight.

3

Measure and scope

Exact sizes, glass type and thickness to AS1288, access notes, and whether the lift needs a machine. You get that back in writing with photographs.

4

Supply and install

We book the glass, book the site, and install. Where the panel is heavy or the access is poor, our own equipment comes with us on the day rather than being booked separately and waited on.

5

Completion and invoice

Completion photographs, site left clean, and an invoice referencing your purchase order so it can be closed out without a chase.

Coverage

Where We Attend

Greater Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula, the Surf Coast, and west through Winchelsea and Colac into the Otways. We are based in Geelong, so there is no Melbourne travel loaded into the job and no minimum charge built around somebody else's drive time.

Full list on our service areas page. If a claim sits just outside it, ask anyway.
