Secure Before Midnight: A Same-Night Repair at an NDIS Property in Geelong

We were called to an NDIS-registered property in Geelong where a laminated safety glass panel had been damaged by impact, leaving a large spider-web fracture across the pane.

The glass was still holding. Laminated does that. But a fractured panel at a disability support property is an immediate safety risk with residents in the building.

Why this one could not wait until morning

On most jobs a board-up overnight and a replacement the next day is a perfectly good answer.

Here it was not. The residents were staying in the property overnight, and a fractured panel in a supported living environment is a different risk profile to a fractured panel in an empty shopfront. We committed to having it made secure before midnight rather than boarded.

Done on site, same night

The broken laminated glass was removed, the frame cleaned out, and a new 6.38 mm laminated safety panel installed on site that night, meeting AS1288 compliance for safety glazing and NDIS housing safety expectations.

Security and comfort restored the same evening, with no board-up left in place overnight.
