Geelong High-Access Glazing – Laminated Glass Panel Removal for Car Wash Machinery Repairs

The Barwon Glass team recently completed the removal of two large laminated safety glass panels measuring 1960mm x 2960mm each, to assist a commercial client with internal repairs to their automatic car wash machinery in Geelong.

The panels were installed at an elevated height — approximately 2.4 metres from ground level reaching up to a total height of 4.4 metres. Due to the size and weight of the glass, we utilised an MPK06 glazing crane paired with a scissor lift to safely extract and lower the glass with precision and control.

This project demonstrates the importance of specialised lifting equipment and experienced glaziers when handling oversized commercial glass in elevated or restricted access installations. Both panels were removed safely, allowing the client to proceed with servicing the car wash machinery without delay.
