Geelong Double-Glazed Unit Replacement – Crane-Assisted Lift with ACL Cranes

The Barwon Glass team successfully completed the replacement of a large 140 kg double-glazed unit at a residential property in Geelong, with assistance from the expert operators at ACL Cranes.

The existing glass panel had been damaged and required safe removal and replacement. Due to the property’s challenging access conditions — including a densely planted garden, a nine-metre setback, and an elevated install point — a crane was essential to complete the lift safely and efficiently.

Using a vacuum lifter and ACL’s mini crawler crane, we carefully extracted the broken double-glazed unit (DGU) and installed a new panel, restoring the building’s thermal insulation and acoustic performance.
