Cracks Spreading Across the Whole Pane, Finished Before 6pm

A window at a Leopold home was struck by an impact, leaving cracks spreading across the entire pane.

A spreading crack is not a wait-and-see situation

A single chip can sometimes sit for a while. Cracks running across the full pane cannot, because the sheet has lost its integrity and the remaining glass is held in place by very little.

It will come out eventually, and it will choose the moment. Usually that is when someone opens or closes the window, or when the wind gets behind it, which is the worst time for it to happen.

Done before nightfall

Our glaziers attended quickly, removed the shattered glass, cleaned out the frame and installed a new panel, finishing just before 6pm.

Beating nightfall is a real target rather than a detail. Once it is dark the house is either boarded or open, and both mean an uncomfortable night for the household.

Security and insulation restored the same day.
