Multiple Fractures in a Lower Pane, Caught Before It Let Go

A lower window panel at an Ocean Grove property had developed multiple fractures and was at risk of breaking further, so the homeowner arranged a same-day repair rather than waiting.
Multiple fractures means it is already failing
One clean crack can be stable for a while. Multiple fractures running through a pane mean the sheet has lost its structure and is being held together by friction and luck.
Calling before it lets go is the right move, and it is cheaper. A pane that fails on its own does it at an inconvenient time, usually spreads glass on both sides of the wall, and turns a booked job into an emergency callout.
Same day, original frame kept
We carefully removed the damaged glass and installed a new panel meeting AS1288, restoring visibility, insulation and safety while keeping the home's original timber window frame design intact.
Retaining the timber frame matters on an older home. The frame is part of the character of the house, and there was nothing wrong with it.
