Measured at Drop-Off, Installed After the Last Child Left
On this page
A laminated glass door panel at a childcare facility in Torquay cracked from impact.
That creates an awkward problem. A cracked safety panel at a childcare centre is not something to leave for a few days, but replacing a door is also not something to do with children in the building.
Split across one day
We attended early in the morning to measure the opening, then returned later the same day to install, once the children had been signed out and the centre was clear.
The replacement was supplied and installed as laminated safety glass, meeting AS1288 compliance for education and childcare facilities. Laminated is the standard here for the obvious reason: if it is impacted again, the interlayer holds the fragments in place rather than releasing them at child height.
The work was completed cleanly, with minimal disruption to staff or the premises, and the centre opened as normal the next morning.

Schools and childcare centres
Our glaziers are fully insured and police-checked, and we schedule around opening hours as a matter of course for schools, childcare centres and community facilities across Torquay, Jan Juc and the Surf Coast.
